When picking where to do Emily and Erica’s engagement session I wracked my brain. We knew we wanted something a hair formal, something with both greenery and columns- and then it hit me. Let’s go back to where it all began for all three of us; our University, Notre Dame of Maryland. Emily and I met as seniors in high school at a prospective students tour. We would become best friends and roommates for all 4 years. We even did our graduate programs at the same time, so we graduated together twice!
Emily and Erica also met at Notre Dame. Classic match- a teacher and a nurse (respectively). Caring professions and caring people. Equal in the way they give to each other and other people. You know- the qualities that are going to make them amazing mothers.
I’ve been following their journey to parenthood closely, cheering each milestone. And lets be honest- pregnancy is a strategic affair with two ladies. But some how at each complicated step, they wound up on the best side of the results. One day we are talking about them starting a family and the next day its “Christine, do you want be Aunt Christine or Aunt Tiney”. Cue tears.
Speaking of winding up on the best side of the results….Baby Langton was due early July, but as I write this the news has officially been shared. Baby Kennedy has made her debut! As Emily wrote to me “I began pushing at 2:02 and had her at 2:07am”.
Welcome to the world Kennedy. You are already loved beyond measure. Shake up this world!
