Zarah’s text caught me completely off guard in the best way: “We’re expecting again!” And not long after, the follow-up—“Just one baby this time!”
It’s been about a year since I last photographed Lillian and Autumn for their first birthday session. They were crawling then, just starting to explore the world. Now, they’re walking, giggling, and bringing all the energy that comes with being two. This session marked the start of their next Motherhood Collection, and I couldn’t have imagined a more fitting way to begin.

A Joyful Half-Year with the Senter Family
A Full Year with the Senter Family
We kept with our tradition of photographing at home, where the space feels both refined and familiar. Their dining room corner, with its soft light and neutral palette, has become our go-to spot for portraits—it’s quietly elegant, with just enough structure to let the emotion shine through. Elsewhere in the house, the session unfolded more organically. The girls moved freely, playing make-believe, getting their shoes tied, and tumbling into arms when they needed a quick reset. One of my favorite frames happened while Zarah was making lunch. I turned around to see one of the twins “cutting” pretend vegetables beside her, perfectly in sync with the rhythm of the afternoon.
Jay’s parents joined us as well, and their presence brought an easy warmth. The girls drifted between arms and laps, and the portraits we captured felt layered and honest—more about connection than posing.
The entire family wore shades of blue, a quiet and joyful nod to the baby boy on the way. This session wasn’t just about preparing for a new arrival. It was a portrait of a family in motion—deep in the season of parenting toddlers, with just enough pause to mark the beginning of the next chapter.
