When we arrived at Kristen’s parent’s home, the mood was relaxed and calm. The girls were finishing up their hair and makeup. Kristen’s maid of honor shows me to the master bedroom. Laid out on the best in a neat row are all of Kristen’s details. Invitation, shoes, 2 ring boxes, picked to coordinate, her purse, perfume, jewelry, and even left over pieces of her dress – “Just in case they might work for the detail photos.” They worked so well!
Kristen is a teacher- can you tell? Highly organized, detail oriented. Brent is laid back, go with the flow. The wedding was a great blend of their personalities. All the details were perfectly, thoughtfully curated but the guest experience was equally considered. Drinks for when guests arrived, small fans in case the early summer was a little warm, a steel drum player to set the laid back vibe for cocktail hour.
The mood shifted to playful, joyous and a little mischievous during toasts. I think every photo from Brent’s best man’s speech, someone has their head in their hands, laughing uncontrollably. Cake cutting was a playful mess, and the dance floor was full of dancing, making silly faces at the flower girls, and conga lines. (Why did those disappear? Let’s bring those back!)
Kristen and Brent, I hope your nautical wedding at the Anchor Inn was everything you dreamed of!
