Kara and I have known each other for a few years now- we both attended the same college, although a few years apart. Notre Dame of Maryland University is a women’s college and the bonds I made there still run very strong. We are a small school, tight knit even years and majors apart. I had follower her relationship online, and when that proposal happened, I was thrilled when she reached out. On an even more personal note, she was the first bride to book after my big rebrand.
Kara and Andrew get double points possibly even triple points.
- They planned their wedding out-of-state
- They are a Covid couple (thankfully they were able to ride it out and not postpone)
- They wound up moving back to Maryland shortly after the weddings, so they were preparing an interstate move while planing their out-of-state, Covid wedding!
You would never know it though. The day of they were relaxed, and easy going. Their bridal party was relaxed and it just matched the perfect early fall day. After their ceremony, we did portraits in the courtyard of their church. I’ll admit- not all churches are photogenic, but this one was a dream! Bright white stone, reflected the light making everyone glow.
I love portrait time because it’s the first quiet time the couple gets on their wedding day. The bridal party, family, and friends had already left for the reception and it was just the 3 of us. Kara and Andrew have this quiet connection that just blossoms when I ask them to cuddle or kiss. And Andrew knows how to get that super bright smile from Kara that especially on a wedding day is just “knock-you-out-stunning”.
