On my Instagram this week I’m counting down to my first Anniversary with a look back at the week leading up to the wedding. At the last minute I decided to do a Bridal Session with my own wedding photographer, Amanda May Photos. I had never heard of this before and now I offer them myself because this was such a positive experience. It also produced my husband’s favorite photo of me from our wedding (guess which one and I’ll you the answer below).
I did mine the week of my wedding since we were out of state. We timed the session to be the same day as my bridal hair and makeup trial. This meant I could see my hair and makeup in my wedding dress! We actually made slight tweaks based on how it was photographing. I went to my venue at golden hour with Amanda, and got in my wedding dress.
Planning had been stressful. I even had second thoughts about my dress – but it all melted away that day. The light was pure magic and as the photoshoot began, all the stress just disappeared.
This photoshoot is what every little girl dreams of. I got to twirl around in my dress. Because the shoot was the only priority, there was no rushing to get to the next step in the wedding day. We had all the time in the world to experiment and go to the best locations on the property. Guys- I climbed a tree in my wedding dress. We never would have done that on the wedding day.
Ultimately the bridal session was relaxed, it was fun, and I felt gorgeous. More than anything it was break from planning and it got me excited for my wedding day.
P.S. Ryan’s favorite is the last image.
