Overhills Mansion in Catonsville Maryland is always a favorite wedding venue but this was my first time there in the winter. In Maryland it is a rare event to have a white wedding and as we neared the day, snow started to enter the forecast. As I got to Overhills Mansion, a blanket of white covered the ground! Perfect! Less perfect was the frozen rain that started to melt away the snow and never once let up. We had some late night emails the night before to come up with our rain plan so the day of, we were unfazed! So if you ever want to know what a rainy wedding looks like- this is it. Beautiful!
I’ve known Micah for years, we went to College together and she was the Maid-of-Honor at former Silver Orchard Couple, Kara and Andrew’s wedding. Back then she and Mark were just dating but we all knew the proposal might becoming soon.
Their wedding was a great example of simplicity and elegance. They leaned into the historic charm of Overhills Mansion but let the venue’s own beauty shine though. With some simple modern details like their stationery and ring boxes, the whole day had this tiny touch of modern which accented the vintage manor so beautifully. And it felt right for them. They are a classic couple in so many ways- romantically in love, sweet and tender but also a modern power couple- supporting each other with their careers and goals. Thats what love is all about!
