Newborn sessions are always a favorite because most often they take place in the home. In the nursery you have so lovingly created for that baby before you even met them. At home newborn sessions take place within the first 2 weeks of your baby being born- you’re still learning who they are, they are still absolutely tiny, and especially during Covid, many of your friends and family haven’t yet met your baby.
I came to Christine and Max’s Columbia Maryland home about a day before Cordelia turned 2 weeks old. We met as she finished her bottle and started to get sleepy- a great time to start photos. Lifestyle newborn photos are all about capturing the real life moments in your home. Cuddles with each parent, the new family together in this room that is about to get a lot of family time!
I loved seeing the different nursery styles- a mix of both sweet baby items and a little of the parent’s personality. Christine and Max are self proclaimed nerds. Harry Potter, Star Trek, video games- all of it. And you can see these little touches woven through their decor or book choices. My personal favorite was the baby feminism collection! But the dominate theme was a classic- Hundred Acer Woods!
Newborn sessions are always a favorite. They grow so quickly and to have this moment captured when they are oh so tiny is just a precious gift that I always feel honored to give.
